Rickmers-Linie and GPLN to Cooperate over the Year 2008

Major projects group and internationally known carrier agree to promote one another; Rickmers to sponsor GPLN and GPLN to name Rickmers as “preferred carrier”

Bangkok, Thailand, March 4th, 2008 – In a move that shows the stature that Global Project Logistics Network (GPLN) has gained in the international project cargo industry, GPLN and Rickmers-Linie have joined hands in agreement to cooperate during the forthcoming year. In the agreement Rickmers-Linie will sponsor the GPLN Annual General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur in mid-March and GPLN will nominate Rickmers-Linie as their group’s preferred carrier.

“I really think this is a big positive for both of our organizations,” said Gary Dale Cearley, executive director of GPLN, “Rickmers-Linie is a company that is very well known in the project shipping world and GPLN is every day, more and more becoming better known to international project logistics specialists as the world’s leading project cargo network. To me, this cooperation is a natural progression.”

As Rickmers-Linie is sponsoring the GPLN meeting in Kuala Lumpur they will be joined in Kuala Lumpur by Rickmers’s Southeast Asia representative, Andreas Rocksien who will be on hand to give a presentation about Rickmers-Linie’s global capabilities and he will meet with the various delegates from GPLN’s member companies from around the world.

“Having Andreas at the meeting is definitely a plus for our attendees and it shows Rickmers-Linie’s commitment to GPLN,” said Gary Dale Cearley, “And as I have met Andreas personally in a few other countries as well, I am sure he is the right guy to be pressing the flesh in Malaysia with our GPLN delegates.”

Rickmers-Linie is a member of the Hamburg based Rickmers Group. With more than 170 years to its name, the company provides a world-wide network of liner services for the transportation of breakbulk, heavylift and project cargoes such as transformers, generators, railway locomotives, brewery tanks and yachts.

Rickmers-Linie currently owns or long-term charters 19 specialist vessels and adds further capacity to its fleet by spot charters subject to demand.

The Global Projects Logistics Network (GPLN) is the premier non-exclusive professional projects logistics network of independent companies specializing in international projects movements by air, sea and land as well as specialized lifts and the special handling of oversized, out-of-gauge and heavy lift cargo.
